Prof. (Mrs.) Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke, OON
Chairman

Professor Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke is the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of The Nigerian Stock Exchange. She has been Chief Executive since January 2000. Professor Onyiuke had joined The Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1983 after a return to Nigeria from the United States and has since served the Stock Exchange in various capacities over the years, gaining a strong knowledge of all the operations of the Stock Exchange. While in the United States, Professor Onyiuke served at the New York Stock Exchange as Exchange Services Manager and Systems Consultant, from 1976 to 1983. She participated in the very selective Executive Exchange Program during President Carter’s White House years and was nominated and listed in the “WHO IS WHO OF AMERICA” in 1981. She has received many distinguished awards for exceptional leadership and academic excellence, including the Goldman Award for best thesis, the foreign Students Academic Excellence Tuition Award from 1972-76, and a National Award of OFFICER OF THE ORDER OF THE NIGER (OON) for distinguished service to Nation hood in 2001.

Professor Ndi Okereke Onyiuke, OON attended Queen’s School, Enugu where she made Grade 1 in 1965, and passed her Higher School Certificate (A-Levels) in 1967. She was further educated in the United States gaining her Bachelors degree at the Baruch College of the City University of New York in 1975, majoring in Computer Science and Economics. She has a Maters of Business Administration (MBA) from City University of New York Graduate School 1977 and a doctorate (Phd/ DBA) in Finance and Securities Markets from the City University of New York Post Graduate Center. She participated in Chase Manhattan Bank MBA fellow’s program in 1978, and the IBM School of Computer Systems Software Management in 1979. She was awarded the Professor of Capital Market Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka in July 2007.

In addition to the demands of the various management roles she held at The Nigerian Stock Exchange from 1983 till date, she has equally served some selected corporate firms on their boards of directors, including but not limited to, Ivory Merchant Bank, Cooperative and Commerce Bank and NAIRA Properties Limited. To her credit she over saw the establishment of the sole Clearing House and subsidiary to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the CENTRAL SECURITIES CLEARING SYSTEM LIMITED (CSCS), as Project Director. She is currently the Chairman of CSCS. In the public sector, Professor Onyiuke has served her Nation as member of the Board of Directors of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) from 1987 to 1990, Visiting Professor for MBA, MBF and MSC classes for the University of Lagos 1995 to 1997, Member of the Nigerian Accounting Standards Board and member of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group. Professor Onyiuke also makes extensive contributions to several INTERNATIONAL organisations and Forums including the World Federation of Exchanges and the World Economic Forum.

Professor Ndi Okereke Onyiuke, OON is the immediate past Chairman of the African Stock Exchanges Association ASEA, and presently the Chairman, Transnational Corporation Nigeria Plc. as well as the CSCS Limited.

Dr. Onyewuchi C Asinobi
Managing Director/CEO

Dr. Onyewuchi C. Asinobi is the pioneer Managing Director/CEO of Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Ltd. He joined The Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1990 and served as the Branch Manager of the Nigerian Stock Exchange in Port Harcourt, Nigeria between 1991 – 1993. He was seconded to the Central Securities Clearing System Ltd, a subsidiary company of The Nigerian Stock Exchange as the pioneer Chief Operating Officer (COO). The CSCS is the Clearing and Settlement House of The Nigerian Stock Exchange.

He was the Chief Operating Officer for 4 years before he was appointed the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CSCS Ltd on December 11, 1997. A position he holds till date. Dr. Asinobi is a member of Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Institute of Directors, Nigeria (IoD) and a fellow, Institute of Capital Market Registrars (FICMR) amongst others.

He obtained a B.Sc (Hons) degree from Southern University, Baton-Rouge, Louisiana, USA and MBA from Jackson State University, Mississippi, USA. He won the graduate Marshall honour given to the best graduate student in Jackson State University. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He has attended several overseas courses, conferences and won awards in the management and operations of clearing, settlement and depository systems including Stock Exchange Management Systems. He also attended Harvard Business School in Boston, USA in 2004. He has won numerous Humanitarian and Christian awards too numerous to mention.


In April 2007, he was invested into the Sacred Order of The Knighthood of St. Christopher by His Lordship, The Rt. Revd Cyril C. Okorocha, Ph.D (Lord Bishop, Anglican Diocese of Owerri), Imo State Nigeria.

He is married with two sons and he enjoys reading, watching soccer, playing lawn and table tennis games. He is a devout Christian and cherishes doing God’s work.

Mrs. O A Oyebadejo
Director

Mrs Oyebadejo is the Asistant General Manager/ Registrar of Union Bank of Nigeria PIc. Her stock registration experience spans over 20 years of meritorious service. She has organized seminars, courses and delivered lectures/papers on share registration within and outside the bank. Well known and respected in the Capital Market for her thoroughness and professionalism and in recognition of her profound contribution to stock registration business.

Mrs. Oyebadejo currently serves as the Chairperson of the Association of Company Registrars, Board Member of Central Securities Clearing System, Member, Capital Market Committee of Securities and Exchange Commission.

MR. Biodun Dabiri
Director

Mr. Biodun Dabiri is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and a Dealing Member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, with an in-depth knowledge of the Nigerian financial industry. A graduate of the University of Ibadan (1977), he has occupied various strategic positions in Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (Chartered Accountants); and NAL Merchant Bank PIc. ("NAL").

Mr. Dabiri joined NAL in 1983, and later rose to the position of Assistant General Manager and Head of the Bank's Capital Markets Group. He had earlier worked in various capacities in the Bank, including Deputy Head of Credit & Marketing Department; Head of the Equipment Leasing Unit, Head of the Bank's Kano Area Office; and Head of Corporate Finance.

While at NAL, Mr. Dabiri helped re-establish NAL as the premier corporate finance house in Nigeria. During this time, he masterminded some of the largest and most complex transactions completed in the Nigerian Capital Market, particularly those focused on raising equity capital and debt conversion techniques.

He left NAL in 1992 to establish both the Capital Consortium Limited, a CBN licensed finance company, and Security Swaps Limited, an investment management and stockbroking firm which is a major player in the Nigerian Capital Markets. He left the firm in 1998 and was appointed Executive Director in Magnum Trust Bank PIc.

He has attended several professional and management seminars organized by leading institutions such as Harvard Business School, American Express Bank, and Citi Bank.

Mr. Herbert Wigwe, FCA
Director

Mr. Herbert Wigwe is an Alumnus of the Harvard Business School, Executive Management Programme and holds a B.Sc. Degree in Accountancy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and Masters Degrees in Banking and International Finance from the University College of North Wales and Financial Economics from the University of London. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

Herbert has two decades of experience in the Nigerian banking industry. He started his professional career with Coopers and Lybrand Associates, an international firm of Chartered Accountants prior to his banking career. He spent over 10 years at Guaranty Trust Bank where he managed several portfolios including Financial Institutions, Corporates and Multinationals. He left Guaranty Trust as an Executive Director to champion the transformation of the Access Bank Plc in March 2002 as Deputy Managing Director. Herbert has led some of the industry’s most significant syndication arrangements and also initiated and executed many landmark transactions covering various sectors of the economy including Oil and Gas/Energy, Manufacturing and Telecoms etc.

Herbert is a member of the Advisory Board of the Friends of the Global Fund, Africa otherwise known as Friends Africa; an international agency mobilising public and private efforts in the fight against the triple pandemics of HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis.

Herbert is happily married with children.

Alh. Kwairanga, Umaru B.Sc (Hons), MBA, MSC, FCS
Director

Alhaji Umaru Kwairanga, the Managing Director/ CEO of Finmal Financial Services Limited holds a Bachelors’ degree from the famous University of Maiduguri and a Masters degree in Finance and Corporate Governance from the prestigious Liverpool’s John Moores University in the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers as well as a Fellow and Council Member of the Certified Pensions Institute of Nigeria He is a Muslim born into the family of Kwairanga in the town of Gombe in Gombe State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is a well-traveled executive who attended courses and training in fields relating to the money and capital markets with reasonable knowledge of corporate governance practices. He has over 16 unquestionable years and cognate experience in banking, manufacturing and trading as well as being an active player in the capital market at a high level. He worked at the defunct New Africa Merchant Bank Limited.

Alh. Kwairanga had his First School Leaving Certificate after his primary education at the Central Primary School, Kumo in 1981, from where he proceeded to Government Science Secondary School in the same locality and obtained his West African Examination Council (WAEC) Certificate. The young Kwairanga further studied at the prestigious University of Maiduguri from 1986 until 1991 when he bagged his Bachelor’s degree (B. Sc. Honours) in Business Administration. Three year later he went to the state university in Ekpoma and there after the Liverpool’s John Moore University in the United Kingdom where he got his Masters in Finance and Corporate Governance in 2007.

He is a member of several professional bodies which include the Certified Pensions Institute of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and a qualified Broker of the Abuja Commodity & Securities Exchange. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

Alh. Kwairanga is a Director on the Boards of so many companies which include but not limited to Ashaka Cement Plc, Barade Construction Co. Ltd, Kwainanado Nig. Ltd Penman Pensions Ltd and Gombe United Micro Finance Bank Ltd. The erudite Kwairanga is on the Board of the Central Securities Clearing System Limited and also the Chief Executive Officer of Finmal Finance Services Limited – a Dealing Member Firm of The Nigerian Stock Exchange.

The subject has achieved versatile experience by the attendance of several courses within and outside the country namely but not limited to Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC) organised course on Corporate Finance and Investment Banking in Ilorin, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) organised course for senior Management in Inventory Management in Lagos, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) Conference on Investment in Washington DC, USA and Finance and Investment Conference in South Africa.

The exposed and experienced Kwairanga is happily married with children.

MR. Chidi Agbapu B. Sc, MBF
Director

MR. Chidi Bertram Agbapu, the Managing Director of Emerging Capital Limited, had his Bachelor’s degree (B. Sc. Honours in Economics) in 1986 (B.Sc. Econs.) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and later, a MBA Degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos. He is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School (LBS) and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria (CPIN) and Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM).

He has attended courses in Corporate Finance, Asset Trading & Management, Mergers and Acquisition, Corporate Governance, etc, both offshore and locally.

He amassed his banking and mortgage experience from New Nigeria Bank through Financial Mortgage Limited between 1987 and 1994, transcending the ranks of Executive Trainee through GM/Head of Treasury. His Investment Banking and Stockbroking experience cut across Prominent Securities Limited and Equator Finance and Securities Limited between 1994 and 2004 after which he left to become a co-promoter of Emerging Capital Limited – a Dealing Member Firm of The Nigerian Stock Exchange. Mr. Agbapu is currently Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Agbapu serves as a Director on the Boards of different companies amongst which are General Cotton Mill (GCM) – Onitsha as well as the Central Securities Clearing System Limited – the Clearing House of The Nigerian Stock Exchange.

The versatile Agbapu is happily married and blessed with children.
